Position Overview:
The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for demand planning, forecasting, purchasing, and inventory reporting. This role includes maintaining and updating our product forecasting models, managing product for all purchase orders, and being responsible for inventory accuracy and reporting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Operations and Sales to ensure product purchase orders are accurate based on promotions, new store buy-ins, etc.
- Work with VP of Operations to create and update weekly and monthly reports that track sales, inventory trends, and operational KPI’s.
- Build and update forecasting models to analyze demand data and inventory levels to plan production purchases by category.
- Lead regular forecasting meetings with Finance, Sales, and Operations.
- Analyze and determine purchase quantities against production requirements (minimum order quantities, future excess/obsolete inventory, etc.) to achieve maximum sales while balancing inventory risk.
- Generate and distribute weekly availability reports.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Three to five years of forecasting or demand planning experience, preferably in the consumer products (CPG).
- ERP experience is required; NetSuite experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational and computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a strong competence with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and other advanced functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a mindset and passion to solve problems.
- Time management skills, including the ability to work efficiently, prioritize projects, and be self-motivated, are expected. Taking initiative and making independent decisions when appropriate is essential.
