Open Position: Part-Time Ecommerce Specialist

Reports to: Director of Brand Strategy 

Job Overview:

To support our brand growth Spinster Sisters Co. is hiring for a Part-Time Ecommerce Specialist.

We are looking for the right person to support scaling spinstersistersco.com. This role is an integral executor of our e-commerce platform and supports overseeing our Shopify Plus store channel. As an expert with the Shopify Plus platform, this role will drive the execution of innovative solutions as we continue to scale our business. The Ecommerce Specialist will work with the Director of Brand Strategy and the Brand Manager in managing all promotions on the store front, track all e-commerce marketing efforts, analyze data, and use our findings to improve strategies. 

This person will also collaborate and make suggestions to improve the storefront to ensure a high quality customer experience as well as maximize conversions and retention. This role is highly collaborative, and will interface directly with our Director of Brand Strategy and Brand Manager to drive revenue. This a hybrid role - with remote work from home and routine officing with the team in-person at our Microsoapery in Golden, Colorado within a 20 hour a week schedule. Role reports to the Director of Brand Strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

The role demands data driven expertise in all things Shopify. You love Ecommerce and scaling female-led businesses with great product lines and an authentic brand story. You find connections between data sets, and use that knowledge to drive new ideas and processes. Communicating across multiple departments is right in your wheelhouse and you don’t shy away from fast-paced projects. The Shopify Specialist knows applications that integrate with Shopify Plus, especially those for marketing, payments, and shipping, and can troubleshoot issues as they arise. They are skilled with paid social, GoogleAds, and programmatic advertising. 

  • Ensure inventory position is maximized and ecommerce merchandising and communications serve to achieve all topline sales and sell-through goals
  • Manage and maintain the site's collections and upload end-to-end product details across Shopify: images, tags, filtering, descriptions, etc.
  • Execute updates for site maintenance - theme updates, unlinked or improper upload of Shopify information, pixel/conversion tracking code support 
  • In collaboration with Director of Brand Strategy and Brand Manager, support execution of paid social strategy strategy across FB, Instagram and Google Ads (display, search, shopping) + support programmatic remarketing from the Shopify site 
  • Follow an intricate category and subcategory tagging system for our sites collections and filters
  • Create compelling product collections based on marketing concepts/email blasts, product attribution, special promos, and sale
  • Leverage knowledge of UI/UX best practices to make recommendations about product page layouts including the buy box, collections pages and all aspects of the checkout process  
  • Manage master catalog for Ecommerce marketplaces
  • Meticulously track and monitor account health, performance metrics, competition, and pricing on a routine basis; monitor best practices, trends, search engine optimization, and the latest marketplace changes
  • Research and be a voice of thought leadership for digital marketing best practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2-3 years of experience with practices and techniques related to web merchandising or online retailing 
  • 2-3 years of experience in website management and eCommerce usability 
  • Operational knowledge of techniques required for market research and analysis
  • Knowledge and/or Expertise in UX as it pertains to eCommerce
  • Experience in working with API and payment modules (not required, but preferred)
  • Experience with paid social - FB, Instagram, TikTok a plus 
  • Experience with GoogleAds - display, search, shopping and remarketing 
  • Ability to be flexible in an fast-paced, emerging brand environment 
  • Ability to work productively in a hybrid team environment 
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to write and follow detailed SOPs
  • Deep working knowledge of Shopify platforms in particular Shopify Plus
  • An understanding that all efforts, decisions, and solutions will have a direct impact on the customer experience.
  • Experience with or a desire to learn new systems such as Headless eCommerce
  • HTML & CSS knowledge 

Minimum Experience Required: 2 years

Part-Time Compensation: 20 hours a week, $30/hr
