Full Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Technical Designer to join our Product Engineer Team. In this role you will assist the team across all KJUS departments to include Ski, Golf and Lifestyle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in building a pattern block library that guarantees consistent fits and fit systems across all of the KJUS departments
  • Assist in creating initial spec sheets from design briefs for all collections (Golf, Ski and Lifestyle)
  • Measure all samples to create proto and production size charts in Centric PLM system
  • Evaluate samples and prototypes for fit, specs, and construction details and ensure SMS and production products meet the construction standards and manufacturing tolerances
  • Responsible for assisting with fit sessions on live models and/or mannequins for prototypes, size sets, and any other samples, using tech-packs and fit history for each style that you have prepared
  • Clearly communicate comments in a timely manner to the vendor- including any sketches, digital photos or updates on patterns, fit, or grading
  • Update the PLM system with changes and support with updates to tech packs and BOMs.
  • Keep samples organized so that prototypes and history are easy to access if needed
  • Use tracking charts to monitor sample status and approvals for fit from 1st proto to production
  • Support in issuing final production approvals with graded spec sheets
  • Identify potential production, quality, and costing issues and make recommendations while maintaining design and fit intent
  • Ensure brand integrity, size and fit are consistent throughout all product categories while pushing for continual improvement and innovation
  • Assist in management of product specific data in product lifestyle management system and product information system
  • Respect and follow strict development timelines including individually assigned duties necessary for timely delivery of prototypes, fit samples, and salesman samples
  • Understand the target KJUS consumer and ensure that your work and the quality produced agrees with global target customer, pricing strategy, and total business strategy
  • Foster trusting relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services and to stay up to date about new manufacturing and construction techniques
  • Conduct market research to identify new trends, innovations and workmanship techniques
  • Light travel through markets and work with sales team to gather consumer and account feedback for fit and function

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in design.
  • The ideal candidate has patternmaking and technical design experience knowledge in fitting and creating functional and technical apparel a must
  • Experience in creating a graded fit system and base shapes for a brand is a plus
  • Creative, passionate and hard-working person who is both independent and a team-player
  • Structured, organized working style with an ability to consistently meet strict and tight deadlines
  • Know-how in MS Office and familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe Platforms
  • Experience in PLM systems; Centric a plus
  • Experience in Patternmaking Software; Assyst is a plus
  • Must be able to travel (mostly domestic with possible international opportunities(10% on average)
