ABOUT THE JOB:

TPC is looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our People & Culture Team to help support our 180 (and growing!) person team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a high growth, often ambiguous environment. You will work with our VP of People & Culture to support our recruiting function while our Recruiter is out on leave, as well as provide administrative support to the team in an ongoing capacity.

As our People Operations Specialist you will have the opportunity to take a critical role in driving our headcount growth, while also learning to be a dynamic People Ops generalist. To be successful in this role you can tirelessly context shift, easily connect with all types of people, notice all the small details, and organize those around you. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Recruiting (4 month full time assignment, and project based ongoing):
    • Assist VP of People & Culture to lead established recruiting process 
    • Collaborate with department managers to understand job requirements for each position and then assist in creating specific, attractive job descriptions that align with our hiring brand
    • Post and manage all open requisitions, working with managers to usher candidates through the hiring process without missing a timely follow up
    • Sort through resumes and assist in sourcing candidates for hard to fill roles
    • Candidate screens: assess applicants' knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions, but more importantly ensure culture fit and integrity prior to passing them to hiring managers
    • Manage relationships with external recruiters, partnerships, and contract employment agencies
  • People & Culture administrative support
    • Assist HRBP in executing onboarding and off-boarding checklists for new employees and separations
    • Support monthly benefit administration process including processing elections, answering employee questions and monthly benefit invoice reconciliation
    • Facilitate monthly performance management cadence
    • Help keep HRIS system accurate and up to date
    • Demonstrate functional expertise by responding to questions regarding benefits, HR systems (Namely, Greenhouse) and programs (e.g. performance management, 401(k), benefits) and company policies 
    • Partner with People & Culture team on strategic and growth initiatives
    • Develop People & Culture-related content for TPC’s social media channels that support recruitment priorities and builds employer brand awareness
    • Assist in collecting data and completing applications for workplace awards programs
    • Collaborate with HRBP to develop, implement, and manage programs and initiatives that contribute to employee engagement goals
    • Support HRBP in Wonolo temp agency management, providing first day tour, collecting required documentation, answering questions, and following up with candidates as needed

ABOUT YOU:

  • 1+ years in an administrative, and ideally HR function
  • You thrive in ambiguity, see what needs to be done, and do it
  • Excellent organization and writing skills
  • Belief that relationships are everything, and you rarely tire from communicating and listening to coworkers and candidates
  • Experience in performing phone screens, facilitating process, and scheduling
  • Superior attention to detail - you rarely miss the details
  • Excellent judge of character, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, make good decisions, and ask if you don’t know
  • A basic knowledge of employment law, it’s practical application, and confidentiality
  • You’re a quick study with new technology systems
  • Enthusiastic about the outdoor/cycling industry, the people it attracts, and all the gear!
