Job Summary: The Human Resources Manager will assist the Vice President of HR in a variety of functions to support Good Chemistry’s employees across Colorado and Massachusetts. The HR Manager will take ownership over several HR matters including recruitment, performance reviews, corrective action, leaves of absence and benefits administration. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives to align with company culture and strategy
- Assess training needs to ensure managers and employees understand company policies, procedures and values and develop programs as needed
- Navigate complex and sensitive personnel issues and investigations and collaborate with managers to make appropriate recommendations for corrective action
- Respond to and process unemployment claims
- Process weekly payroll
- Investigate Workers Comp claims and communicate with company policy provider
- Administer ADA, FMLA, and PFML requests and track employee leaves of absence
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Perform HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
- Provide support and guidance to HR Coordinator
- Provide a weekly report of HR activity to the VP of HR
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements (Education and Experience):
- 4-year degree required, preferably in human resources or related field
- PHR or SHRM credential preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in human resources
- Must pass a background check and be able to obtain an MED badge
- Must be able to drive to CO locations when necessary
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Must have in-depth knowledge of CO and federal employment law
- Proficient in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Apple OS
- Genuine enthusiasm for cannabis industry
- Ability to comprehend, interpret and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
- Excellent oral and written communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Proven attention to detail and organization
