Launched in July 2020, Marco Sweets & Spices is a high-growth, funded CPG start-up creating internationally-inspired ice cream that echoes a love for travel and honors a diversity of ingredients from around the world. While shoppers are eating more global flavors, the ice cream category hasn’t kept up with the expanding palates of today’s consumers. So we’re pushing the ice cream aisle into 2022 by developing unique flavors - such as Moroccan Honey Nut, Aztec Chocolate, and Turkish Mocha, that more accurately reflect the diversity sought by consumers. Marco is sold online, as well as in an increasing array of retailers and countries.
About the Role:
This position is focused on growing the brand's consumer engagement and personality across all platforms and channels - specifically managing our social media presence, community engagement, influencer outreach, content development, and more. As a key member of the team, this position requires a highly motivated individual who’s not afraid to jump right into things with strong communication skills. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment and be extremely passionate about being the voice of a growing brand.
Responsibilities:
Social & Community Manager:
- Foster engagement and loyalty by proactively bringing value to the community in a voice that speaks to key audiences and drives overall brand/business objectives. This means proactive posting & management of content, reactive responses to fan inquiries/posts, and answering customer service related questions.
- Manage all PR/Communications to relevant media outlets
Content Management & Creation:
- Manage social media calendars and posts across multiple platforms; this includes collaborating on key planning/event dates, nuancing content across the platforms, and developing copy and images for individual pieces of content
Customer Response:
- Actively managing our consumer feedback channels (primarily email questions/issues/feedback)
- Promptly resolving issues or involving the right department to help in the resolution.
Influencer Marketing:
- Identify, recruit and manage influencer/brand ambassador programs including the fulfillment process
Strategic Planning:
- Understand the ever-changing social + digital landscape and are closely in tune with overall social conversations, can quickly identify popular culture trends, and can creatively insert our brand where it makes the most sense and can drive engagement
- Collaborate strategically with the team to develop engagement strategies that help achieve business objectives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and social platform opportunities
Email Marketing:
- Develop content plan and execute communications throughout the year (ideally 2x newsletters per month)
- Build a consumer email database with new contacts
Activations & Events:
- A broader area of responsibilities that could include: demo event organization and execution, shipments to media contacts or events, management of Trade Show activities and needs, production of stickers, coupons, sales brochures, other marketing materials or giveaways, etc.

Requirements:
- 1-2 years of professional experience in areas of brand marketing, content creation, and/or email marketing
- Communication Skills - we will be asking this person to write blog articles, posts, etc. so strong writing skills are important. Additionally, this person will be interacting with our influencer community and consumers, which will require the ability to develop relationships and clearly communicate brand priorities.
- Creative writer; understand the brand voice and how it adopts it across channels
- Strong experience and comfort with social media channels
- Established photography / graphic arts skills
- Experience managing multiple projects/responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Roll up the sleeves, can-do spirit! This is a start-up environment and everyone wears a lot of hats and pitches in with whatever needs to get done.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe suite, content management systems, and social media management is a huge plus
- Denver/Boulder metro preferred
