We are looking for someone who is excited to join our rapidly growing, mission based dynamic company. The ideal candidate can easily wear two hats- finance and accounting, and can work side by side with the owners to analyze and monitor the health and trajectory of the company. The Position

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for working with the executive team to help build a finance/accounting department for this dynamic, growing company. Managing all facets of budgeting, forecasting, accounting compliance, and financial reporting, you will work with department heads to develop and refine processes and procedures for inventory and manufacturing controls.

The Accounting Manager will manage the day-to-day accounting and finance functions, provide guidance and recommendations and work closely with operations and production teams. In addition, you’ll assist in ensuring that the financial control environment is strong, sustainable and supportive of the business growth. The ideal candidate will be excited to work in a start-up environment with opportunity to develop and grow a department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all functions of accounting including: A/R, A/P, revenue recognition, payroll, benefits, fixed asset management, inventory accounting, commission calculations, month end close financial statement preparation.
  • Work with supply chain to evaluate and monitor inventory.
  • Support Company President with all aspects of financial reporting, including analysis, trend reporting and monthly performance.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements through the maintenance of well-organized and structured accounts and records.
  • Oversee intrastate and interstate sales and use tax compliance.
  • Oversee payroll and benefit maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Implement operational and financial metrics and controls for the company and departments.
  • Assist department heads with budgets and forecasting and review monthly results with variance reports with department heads.
  • Prepare all supporting documentation for annual tax returns and liaise with external tax preparers.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in general accounting, technical accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
  • 3 years experience in an accounting leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and inventory systems. ERP or MRP experience a plus.
  • Good understanding of database management and IT infrastructure data flow and processes.
  • Prior experience and understanding of the financial and accounting needs of a high growth, start-up company.
  • Impeccable ethics, organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and controls for manufacturing and BOMs.
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory controls.
  • Proven knowledge of GAAP principles and compliance.
  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
  • Can do attitude that thrives in a fast paced environment.
  • Effective communicator with management and employees inside and outside of the department.
  • Lead implementation of accounting and reporting tools to ensure scalability.
