Nude Foods Market is Boulder’s first zero waste grocery store and delivery service. It’s like a traditional grocery store just without all the plastic waste. Products are all in reusable, returnable packaging.
Nude Foods is on a mission to change the way people shop for food.
Instead of sending food packaging to landfill or (hopefully) recycling, containers are returned to the store or picked up from peoples' homes (by bike or electric vehicle) for cleaning and reuse.
This creates a closed loop system with very little waste.

Nude Foods focuses on local, sustainable sourcing free of chemicals, refined sugar and other harmful ingredients. We do deep research into every single product so shopping at Nude Foods means you don’t have to worry about where things come from, we do that worrying for you.
Since its launch, Nude Foods Market has expanded its services to include hundreds of products including locally sourced organic groceries, a changing menu of house-made weekly meals, and household products in zero-waste, reusable containers.
Nude Foods supports regenerative farming and partners with local farms and food companies for many of its products, sending each item through a strict customer board evaluation to ensure quality.

Nude Foods Market is just starting out and is destined for big things. We plan to expand nationwide over the next 5 – 10 years and need a highly experienced Store Manager to work with the founding team to design the systems and processes for the first store and replicate this nationwide.
The right person for this job is smart, ambitious, strategic and ready to do whatever it takes to make Nude Foods Market a success.
As with any startup, this role will involve both high-level design and visioning as well as on the ground, ‘getting your hands dirty’ kind of work. It’s fun, fast-paced and exciting. We are doing something truly different and have an opportunity to completely change the way people shop.
So far we have won Best of the West for Natural Grocers, won best new business in Boulder County and been picked as one of the top 15 Independent Grocers in the US by Progressive Grocer Magazine.

This role involves:
BUILDING AND MANAGING A TEAM
- Interviewing and hiring your ideal Front of House Team
- Managing their schedules
- Supporting their performance
- Building out an in-depth training and growth program
SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES
- Designing and putting in place the most efficient and effective systems and processes to run the store. The most important piece is that these are replicable as we grow.
- This is a blank slate so there’s an opportunity to think outside the box and do things differently
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Welcoming customers like long-lost friends and training your team to do the same. We want everyone to feel important. Bonus if you can remember people’s names!
- Being available to answer customer questions as well as empowering your team to do the same.
- Dealing with any complaints quickly and with good humor. Mistakes happen, it’s how we deal with them that counts. We want a complaint to be an opportunity to create a lifelong customer and raving fan
- Training your team in sales to encourage customers to try new products / sign up for our loyalty program / sign up to our newsletter etc
- Designing a sampling program with our vendors
KEEPING THE STORE IN GOOD SHAPE AND CONSTANTLY IMPROVING:
- Being obsessive about tidiness and customer experience and redesigning the store when necessary
- Managing product levels and restocking
- Helping design an inventory management system
- Quickly solving shelf tags or QR codes that don’t work
- Managing zero waste product sourcing and ordering (e.g. reusable water bottles)
- Regular merchandising changes to keep things fresh
- Conducting weekly and monthly inventory audits to quantify shrink
CLEANLINESS:
- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly cleaning protocols for the store, the goal being a sparkling clean facility at all times.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience running a grocery store department or managing a grocery store
- A willingness to listen to diverse stakeholders, and absorb their concerns into the decision-making process
- Experience managing people is essential
- Self-motivated and self-directed. We need someone who can drive the store development forward
- Not afraid to get your hands dirty and take on whatever task needs to be done
- Problem solving. We’re a startup and we’re constantly growing and changing, we need someone who can handle new problems as they arise and quickly come up with solutions
- Chill. Someone who stays calm and positive in stressful situations.

- Starting at $55K-$65K + bonus + option for equity
- 4 weeks paid vacation
