Pasta Jays & Schultz  Brand Manager

Pasta Jays & Schultz Gourmet are breaking away from its previous management group, 1908 Brands, into separate entities.  This position will manage both brands.

Job Title:                    Brand Manager

FLSA Status:              Exempt

Reports to:                Steve Savage – 1908 Brands, Pasta Jays owner and Schultz advisor

This position manages, develops, and implements new product development, operations, sales and marketing activities to maximize sales of both brands; including but limited to analyzing brand performance, brand competitiveness and product trends in the marketplace.

We consider Brand Managers the “CEO of the Brand”.  Brand Managers lead sales, marketing, product innovations, financial performance based on consumer insights, identifying opportunities, product conceptualizing, prepare and implement launch and post evaluation.  

Given the size of these brands, this position is hands on.  You will also work with the 1908 Brands operations team to confirm shipments ship on time.

Marketing

Sales

  • Our brand managers are responsible for sales, velocity increases and sales performance
  • Individually or partner with sales team to understand retailer trends and challenges
  • Oversee promotions, marketing and merchandising activities
  • Attend tradeshows, tabletops and other events

Performance Tracking

  • Analyze sales and marketing strategy performance
  • Analyze awareness, differentiation, value, accessibility and emotional connection
  • Budget, tactics, goals
  • Market analysis
  • Competitive analysis
  • Demo analysis
  • Provide timely and consistent communication of brand activity and key information to internal business partners. 

Social Media

Develop and maintain online content that attracts attention, generations of interest and is easily shared with social networks. Has the ability to build consumer and digital community to drive brand engagement and loyalty.

Skills Preferred:

  • Sales experience
  • QuickBooks familiarity
  • Google analytics experience
  • Dedicated to blogging, microblogging (i.e. Twitter) and use of Instagram and Facebook
  • Ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment

 Job Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred but not required
  • Possess key functional expertise across advertising, promotion, PR, digital marketing, market research, and innovation
  • Prior experience with emerging brand development to support aggressive business growth
  • Key leadership characteristics: leadership/drive for results, collaborative, flexible, strong communicator, entrepreneurial, ability to roll up sleeves, big idea thinker, integrity
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, verbal and written communications skills
  • Positive, enthusiastic, hardworking, persistent, and dependable.
  • Candidate must be a proficient user in POWERPOINT, WORD, EXCEL, and SPINS/Nielsen.
  • Understands social media universe including Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Forums, Twitter, Wikis, blogs, etc.
