In this hands-on position as VP of Finance and Administration, you will report to the CEO and be a critical part of the Leadership Team. This position requires the ability to simultaneously wear multiple hats and is responsible for leading Finance, Employee Benefits, and Administration, with a team of two direct reports.
The ideal candidate for this position is analytical, collaborative, and results-driven, and will build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. The VP of Finance and Administration should be equally comfortable working through strategy and details, with the flexibility to jump in at the level required for the task at hand. The right candidate will possess strong financial, business modeling and analytical skills and be an excellent verbal and written communicator.
Primary Responsibilities
- Business Strategy
- With the leadership team, develop and execute on the Company’s business strategy that elevates and defends the Company’s market leadership position
- Create and lead the planning and budgeting process and track and monitor performance against the budget
- Evaluate, analyze, and collaborate on key strategic initiatives
- Financial Planning and Business Analysis
- Forecast and budgeting modeling
- Oversee and generate monthly financial reports and complete analysis of financial results
- Monitor key business metrics and communicate trends and performance to executive team and parent company
- Maintain detailed cash flow projections to ensure cash flow optimization
- Accounting, Systems, IT & Administration
- Oversee and review all financial closing activities including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements
- Maintain accurate financial records in U.S. GAAP format
- Ensure adequate internal controls are maintained
- Lead external audit and manage tax relationship to ensure tax optimization, proper filing of tax returns and legal and regulatory compliance
- Manage company’s insurance policies
- Human Resources
- Administer and enforce the company’s HR policies and procedures
- Govern company’s 401k plan to ensure compliance with applicable laws
- Analyze and review employee compensation and benefit packages to balance the need to ensure market competitiveness with cost effectiveness
- Manage the company’s insurance programs
- Leadership
- Actively lead annual and long-term planning process and development of annual budget and forecasts
- Provide regular performance updates on operations and key metrics
- Mentor, train and develop direct reports
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading and managing finance and accounting organizations
- Hands-on experience in QuickBooks
- Strong financial and business modeling and analysis experience required
- Experience leading annual and quarterly planning
- Expert level modeling experience (creation and maintenance) via Microsoft Excel
- Comfortable with continuous, accurate cash flow forecasting and solid balance sheet management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS standards required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in which requirements & priorities can change
- Initiative-taking, entrepreneurial go-getter with integrity and good judgement
