Responsibilities:
General Accounting Duties for Skratch Labs CPG and Skratch Labs Cafe:
- Accounts payable bill processing and tracking
- Accounts receivable tracking, reporting, follow-up, and escalation
- AR payment recording
- Reconciliations for company bank accounts and company credit card use
- Reconciliations for Shopify, credit card processor, and Amazon deposits
- Weekly PayPal transfers
- General filing and record keeping
Specific duties in support of Skratch Labs Cafe
- Manage sales & use tax filing and payments
- Preparing entries to accounts and documenting business transactions
- Monthly close, publishing financial statements
- Maintain bookkeeping system (QuickBooks Online)
- Supporting connections between QBO and point of sale system
- Tracking, recording, and filing vendor invoices
- Setting up product allowance for all employees
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically excel
- Knowledge of Google Workspace office productivity tools, specifically sheets and drive
- Aptitude for math, quantitative topics, systems and processes.
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people
- Time management skills and the ability to work under deadlines
Education:
- College degree, preferably in accounting, business, finance, or economics
Experience:
- 2-3 years of business experience in accounting or financial operations (AP, AR, journal entries, reconciliations)
- Experience with business or ledger systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Acumatica, QuickBooks Online or other ERP systems
Position Definitions
- Hybrid in office and remote work policy - Skratch Labs employees will be in person in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to foster connection and collaboration but the remaining days, work location, and schedule are flexible.
