Position Summary
Scout’s Talent Acquisition Manager will play an important role in building our first People and Culture team. The primary focus of this role is to execute the strategic plan to attract, empower, and advance Scout team members who will achieve Scout’s Mission and Vision in alignment with our Values. You will serve as a key team member and hands-on business partner across every department at Scout.
Scout is in the midst of an explosive growth phase that requires intensive and effective talent acquisition. Our recent acquisition by Brookfield Renewables’ Global Transition Fund provides us with the opportunity to advance our substantial portfolio of projects in development and construction.
You will play a pivotal role on the People and Culture team in the following areas, which include an estimate of how much of your time you’ll spend in each area:
Working closely with our Talent Acquisition Associate, execute Scout’s strategy for company-wide and cross functional Talent Acquisition initiatives (60%).
- Leverage your knowledge of career progressions within specific departments to enhance existing job postings and create new ones.
- Source candidates for key roles and conduct outreach to those agreed upon with hiring managers. Vet, prioritize, and organize applications received for senior team member / hiring manager review.
- Conduct phone screens with candidates and provide useful and structured feedback to hiring team members.
- Make recommendations for offers, lead the negotiations with candidates, secure appropriate approval, and prepare and/or review offer letters for preferred candidates.
- Represent Scout and our Values at networking events, career fairs and through social networking.
Provide general structural support to Talent Acquisition-related matters (25%).
- Oversee and select systems needed to support Talent Acquisition programs (e.g., applicant tracking system).
- Support contract review and management for external vendors for talent acquisition needs.
- Develop and lead training on Talent Acquisition-related items, including programs and systems.
- Facilitate the employee on-boarding process for P+C-related items.
- Mentor more junior staff to support continued team development.
- Ensure that organizational structures for all Talent Acquisition-related files are maintained on appropriate platforms, including clear direction on data protection.
Facilitate and contribute to the strategic planning process for our talent acquisition efforts (15%).
- Understand People and Culture dynamics and effectively position Scout as an employer of choice.
- Develop comprehensive, innovative programmatic offerings that leverage Scout strengths to meet team member needs.
- Develop timelines for all Talent Acquisition initiatives that achieve goals set by senior team members; engage all necessary stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure they are met.
- Facilitate the development of career progressions in multiple departments.
- Identify and collaborate with partners to enhance our effectiveness in recruiting a diverse set of candidates to Scout.
Provide top-flight written, verbal, and visual communication materials that effectively motivate their target audiences, which will have varying levels of technical expertise and seniority. (All the time!)

Work Experience and Skillset
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of progressive responsibility in talent acquisition for advanced technical- or business-focused roles. Previous work experience in clean energy is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in making the world a better place through clean energy.
- Interest in technological solutions and systems that enhance talent acquisition functions. Experience evaluating and implementing new systems is preferred.
- Ability to type at least 60 words per minute.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results while maintaining discretion in sensitive situations.
- Growth mindset with the ability to learn skills on the job as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to develop advanced skills, proficiency in the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills

Timeline and Location
Scout aims to fill the Talent Acquisition Manager position as soon as possible, ideally during Q1 2023.
Our ideal candidate will be able to commute to our Boulder office on our current 3/2 hybrid schedule. Remote candidates may be considered where candidates state this preference in their cover letter and are willing to travel to the Boulder office one week per month.

Compensation
Target base salary: $100,000-$125,000 depending on experience. Attractive bonus potential.
