The Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s is a dynamic, national nonprofit organization located in Colorado. Our mission is to help people with Parkinson’s live well today, and we inform and inspire hundreds of thousands of people living with Parkinson’s around the world each year through our programs.
As a non-profit organization, the Davis Phinney Foundation relies on private, philanthropic funding, grants, and corporate sponsorships to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals living with Parkinson’s each year.
The Development Associate is a responsive and detail-oriented member of the Development team and provides support across several areas of the organization. They are primarily accountable for gift data entry, printing acknowledgment letters, and supporting our team with inventory management, shipping, and fulfillment of our merchandise incentive program.
This role is accountable for:
- Gift data entry
- Donor acknowledgment letters
- Inventory management
- Incentive shipping
- Fundraiser and donor relations
Day to day, you can expect to:
Perform gift data entry as gift batches are received, print, and send donor acknowledgment letters
- Coordinate with office coordinator to receive donation batches for data entry.
- Review batches and constituent records for accuracy and missing information; identify opportunities to improve processes and data.
- Consistently and accurately update our constituent database with new constituent information.
- Enter donation/gift data into Raiser’s Edge database, export lists, and create mail merge to print gift acknowledgment letters.
Organize and track merchandise inventory and fulfill and ship merchandise to our fundraisers and donors.
- Maintain inventory controls of our merchandise through monthly counts.
- Using lists generated weekly, fulfill and ship merchandise using the most cost-effective shipping methods.
- Utilize in-office volunteers to assist with fulfillment and mailing.
Assist as a point of contact for Team DPF fundraisers and donors.
- Attend and support local events and represent the Davis Phinney Foundation in a friendly, professional manner
- Assist the office coordinator with welcoming visitors and volunteers to the office.
- Provide event managers with pre-event support (organizing, packing, loading).
General Responsibilities
- Support and build the Foundation’s reputation as a leading resource for living well with Parkinson’s.
- Assist in events or other activities on behalf of the Foundation.

Qualifications |
Our ideal candidate will be proactive and organized and possess the following skills and attributes:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an office environment
- Minimum of 2 years’ bookkeeping, data entry, and/or inventory experience
- Critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with donor information
- Experience with Office 365 applications and CRM databases preferred
- Ability to work occasional weekends a plus
- Valid driver’s license and insurance a plus
- Ability and desire to learn new skills and suggest improvements to processes and communication
