About the Job

Ever aspired to be “hand to the King?” Did you watch West Wing and think, “Leo and Donna are my spirit animals?” Is your pantry organized by food group with each shelf labeled? Are you a business operations generalist with extraordinary project management abilities? Think cannabis is pretty cool? Then have we got the job for you!

The Chief of Staff will support the CEO and Senior Leadership as we work to implement our strategy throughout our organization. They will develop and maintain business routines, drive the execution of key imperatives, and make sure that our strategic projects and priorities are effectively specified, communicated, and managed throughout the organization.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Spearheading our company’s project management function from within the Office of the CEO
  • Collaborating with function leads to define, prioritize, and execute strategic projects from idea to completion. We have a lot of balls in the air, and it will be your job to call out when they’ve been — or are in danger of being — dropped
  • Managing a diverse and changing workload of projects and tasks, keeping ahead of pending activities, addressing obstacles, escalating risks, and reassessing competing priorities
  • Helping to instill a culture of adherence to process in all cross-functional efforts
  • Identifying and closing any cross-function or cross-seniority communication gaps, creating and clearing downstream and upstream communication channels
  • Acting as a sounding board and liaison for the CEO, then working internally and externally to drive his priorities to completion
  • Working closely with Senior Leadership as a whole to ensure every project we choose to execute both supports the goals of the organization and has a high likelihood of success
  • Filling all the gaps

What we’ll love about you:

  • A process-oriented problem solver who can manage complex situations without panicking
  • An organized, proactive nature that loves building systems and tools
  • An emotionally mature adult who prefers to work with other emotionally mature adults - and knows how to get coworkers to do what’s needed to move a project forward
  • An inquisitive, curious nature that views ignorance as an opportunity to learn or teach
  • A willingness to admit error quickly and move immediately on to improvement
  • An exceptional communicator across all levels of staff and all forms of communication
  • Flexible and self-directed

What you’ll love about us:

  • We are a team of competent, motivated, and decent adults
  • We offer competitive compensation, 100% paid health benefits, sick leave, 401k, and a fun, relaxed office environment
  • We value reasoned debate over political maneuvering
  • We try to do the right thing and, more importantly, we try to identify and admit when we don’t
  • We offer flexible PTO for all full-time employees. We too value health, relaxation, and spending time with friends and family
  • We try very hard to make fire drills the exception, not the norm
  • For more details on the culture we foster, visit: tryripple.com/values

Qualifications:

  • BS required, with a weak preference for technical subject areas
  • Project management experience is a huge plus
  • A drive for results and a get ‘er done work ethic
  • Strategic thinker with analytical approach to solving problems
  • Exercises sound decision making skills and keeps cool under pressure
  • Natural ability to build relationships across diverse personalities, skill sets, and experience levels
  • Agile working style, with an eagerness to learn and implement new skills
  • Systems- and process-driven thinker (loves creating order out of chaos)
  • Superb organization and time management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at the senior level
  • 2 years working with C-suite executives
  • High level of discretion
