The Colorado Chautauqua Association (CCA) is a 501(c)3 Colorado non-profit corporation dedicated to preserving, perpetuating and improving the site and spirit of the historic Chautauqua by enhancing its community and values through cultural, educational, social and recreational experiences. The Chautauqua experience is based on lifelong learning, love of nature, voluntary simplicity, and music, oration and the arts. If you are challenged to make a genuine impact and play an integral role in the success of CCA’s mission and goals, then we invite you to join us as Director, Development & Community Partnerships (DDCP).
The Director, Development & Community Partnerships is a member of the senior management team and works closely with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to design and implement strategies that ensure successful organizational fundraising, including all activities related to the cultivation and solicitation of individual, corporate, foundation, grant and government support, as well as major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communication, or a related field.
• 7+ years of work experience, including prior success in fund development, with components including grants management, corporate/foundation solicitation, stewardship, securing major giving, and board engagement.
• Demonstrated understanding of accepted principles of charitable giving, particularly in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and individual donor cultivation.
• Grant-writing experience with proven ability to write professionally and persuasively.
• Demonstrated experience developing annual revenue and expense budgets and tracking expenses.
• Proficient level of experience in donor database and Office 365; analytic thinking.
• Practiced in creating presentations, reports, and business correspondence.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
• Exceptional management, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Event management experience.
• Strong verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to speak clearly and persuasively.
• Strong donor relationship management skills and a focus on relationship building among a wide range of individuals, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to create and implement new initiatives, planning and anticipating needs in order to see through a project to completion.
• Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically, thorough understanding of strategic development and set strategic goals with accompanying action plans, take the lead and take initiative.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff in a positive and supportive environment.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and special events when necessary.
Designation: Full-time, exempt, benefited position.
Starting Salary: $72,000 – $80,000 annually
Benefits include: Paid holidays, vacation, sick time, personal time, health, dental, vision, group life, short and long term disability, 401k Plan.
