The Staff Accountant at NextFoods provides daily, monthly and quarterly support for a wide variety of accounting & finance processes, with a focus on Tradespend, Accounts Receivable review, Broker Commissions and LOC maintenance & monitoring. They achieve all tasks and processes with a strong attention to detail, an organized approach and long-term sustainable vision.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Process and manage Accounts Receivable activity. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Proper posting, reconciliation, and analysis of tradespendÂ
- Review and dispute customer deductions from remittances
- Review and dispute customer shortage claims
- Identify trade issues and bring them to the attention of the Controller and the Sales & Planning Team.
- Reconcile and report on Tradespend including trends and variance to budget.
- Diligent management of outstanding receivables
- Process and manage the monthly Broker Commission calculation & reporting.
- Weekly processing and management of LOC requirements.
- Cross-functional collaboration with sales and supply chain teams
- Play a key role in the monthly close process for various general ledger accounts.
- Prepare necessary monthly journal entries as assigned.
- Assist with external audit requests.
- Consistently evaluate areas for process improvement
- Partake in ad hoc team projects and analysis.
- Conduct periodic audits of specific accounts to ensure their accuracy.
 You should have:
- 3-5 years’ experience in CPG Accounting
- Finance or Accounting bachelor’s degree
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Strong team player with positive attitude that can excel in a fast-paced environment.
- NetSuite experience
$70k-$90k annually depending on experience. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, 401k with up to 4% match, paid vacation, holiday, and sick time, stock options and more.
This position is primarily in office with the potential for some remote work. Candidate must be located in Colorado and able to commute to our office in Boulder.
