Full Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Sales will lead our group of Sales Leaders in developing and executing Sales strategy and deliverables for the Company.  This person will provide strategic, tactical, and executional leadership in utilizing category, customer, and consumer insight information to support development and execution of effective sales initiatives at Leanin’ Tree. 

The Vice President of Sales position is accountable for developing a high-performance sales team and deliver company volume, net revenue and gross margin objectives.

We are looking for a top-notch VP of Sales with an in-depth knowledge of the market and competitive products and who has excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the sales organization and using experience and networks to prospect, manage, and close large key accounts.
  • Strong focus on AOP achievement, both sales and margin.
  • Work with the Product Development and Marketing departments to design print and online /digital promotional materials for the company's products and services.
  • Identify where improvements can be made while developing sales plans and strategies to achieve sales goals.
  • Develop and manage sales budgets.
  • Oversee long-term sales processes and strategy; identify market opportunities, create effective positioning with customers, and translate big ideas, company objectives, and goals into clear and actionable plans.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and ensure successful execution. Set quarterly and annual sales goals and lead the sales teams to achieve their goals.
  • Create a proactive sales culture, sharing and testing new ideas to drive leads and customer meetings.
  • Review and make appropriate adjustments to the existing sales incentive structures.
  • Monitor market trends to understand customer opportunities and needs; recommend and implement new strategies to drive revenue goals and stay competitive in the market.
  • Monitor revenue pipeline and leads, including forecasting, and adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth.
  • Build and grow relationships and lead conversations with key clients, ensuring an exceptional client experience and long-term retention.
  • Effectively manage promotion strategies to maximize results by retailer.
  • Oversee analytics across the revenue funnels and maintain a consistent reporting process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision

  • Provide effective executive-level leadership to the Sales organization.
  • Manage and coach the Sales team and support their professional development; understand what motivates sellers, what their obstacles are, what they need to be successful.
  • Promote communication and cooperation among departments to create a spirit of unity in the organization.
  • Lead and motivate the Sales Team; coaching staff and fostering teamwork to ensure staff optimization and organizational competency.
  • Uphold an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a sales leadership position in the CPG sector.
  • Preferred 5 + years’ experience in a senior sales role in the Greeting Card Industry.
  • Experience reviewing and implementing incentive structures.
  • Experience prospecting and closing large key accounts.
  • Preferred experience selling to brick-and-mortar retail chains.
  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods.
  • Seasoning knowledge of Ecommerce.
  • Strong working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the market.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Great strategic planning, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
  • Strong relationships and knowledge of top 10 retailers for this industry.
  • Superlative communication skills with the ability to communicate as a leader, listen attentively, and excel at public speaking.
  • Proven record of accomplishment for effective team management and results driven leadership.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
  • A positive and tenacious attitude and an unyielding passion for success
  • An outside the box, pro-active approach to self-generate new business through activity, referrals and networks.
  • Ability to travel approximately 60%.
