Full Job Description

Responsibilities
Create & Architect Brand Selling Materials:

  • Own the customer planning toolkit across channels: new item and customer selling materials, price list & promotion grid, shelving and merchandising recommendations, etc.

  • Partner with the CCO for internal planning docs and develop presentations (including senior level materials), status updates, and other sales/marketing materials as warranted

  • Develop and drive assortment strategy and growth, including monitoring product velocities, portfolio architecture, and ensure inventory support/forecasting for upside and gap closures

  • Drive adherence to critical external timelines to meet customer deadlines including all sales needs/requirements – selling stories, point-of sale materials, samples, insights, etc.

  • Coordinate Trade Show (namely Expo West) activations and on-going sample process Drive Enhanced Sales Execution:

  • Partner with Regional Sales managers, support the development promotional trade calendars and strategies which align with channel strategy and P&L guardrails

  • In partnership with retail account owner, finance and supply chain team, provide guidance to ensure inventory and financial support of annual retail planning, product launches, merchandising and new customer additions in distribution

  • Central point of contact for third party field merchandising team materials and communication: Dirty Hands, UNFI/KeHE distributor downstream reps, etc.

  • Support account managers with new customer set up and onboarding, in conjunction with Operations and Finance

  • Own item set up and management in product databases: IX-one, Food Logiq, 1WorldSync, and additional customer portals

    Retail Analytics & Fact-Based Storytelling

  • Point-person for monthly ALOHA syndicated data reporting across channels – Grocery, Natural, Mass, providing updates to customer KPIs. Additionally, leverage distributor-based reporting for insights: KeHE Connect, UNFI reports

  • Support Trade Promotion Analytics, in partnership with finance team, evaluating promotional effectiveness for ALOHA and Key competitors

  • “Hub of the Data Wheel” - proactively identify and quantify customer opportunities on an ongoing basis

Skills

  • 3-5+ years experience in retail Natural & Grocery Channels with direct key account or sales region management exposure (if not responsibility)

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Areas of focus in Business or a related field preferred

  • Established relationships and demonstrated success working with key retailers along with the

    leading brokers and distributors (UNFI, KeHE) servicing a number of retailers

  • Prior experience preferred in operating with a lean, efficient team, appropriate to size/scope of business, and utilizing appropriate systems to support strong business growth

  • Key leadership characteristics: integrity, leadership/drive for results, collaborative, flexible, strong communicator, player/coach mentality with willingness to roll up sleeves and get into the weeds

  • Experience utilizing SPINS, Nielsen and/or IRI. Understands how “relevant data” plays a key role in underpinning business decisions, especially in competitive categories. Strong proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, MS Office products
