Full Job Description

The role will report to the Chief Supply Chain Officer. The Director of Supply Chain acts as a central hub for the company and supply chain.  This person will own the monthly Sales and Operations Planning process, oversee Customer Service and Logistics, own demand input and supply planning, and inventory production decisions.  It is critical to build strong relationships with sales partners to build a robust Demand Plan for key customers and segments, and possess the ability to leverage systems and data to influence decisions.  Equally as important is the ability to build inventory to fulfill sales demand in a fast-paced supply chain, and “thread the needle” to keep inventory as low as possible, and fill rates high.  The ability to problem solve quickly as issues arise will be required to successfully perform this role.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (this is not all-encompassing. Stay on your feet… Duties and responsibilities may change):

  • Responsible for monthly S&OP Consensus Cycle, including Demand Review and Executive Consensus
  • Create and maintain robust Demand Plan in collaboration with the Sales team and load this plan into the MRP system
  • Create weekly production plan with 3rd party manufacturers and provide ongoing forecast to ensure capacity needs can be met
  • Work with raw material suppliers, submit POs, and provide ongoing forecast to ensure supply needs are met
  • Monitor inventory targets are being met, review seasonally to ensure proper inventory targets are set to meet the needs of the business
  • Review system settings and keep BOM data updated to ensure MRP is supply the correct signals
  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities across processes
  • Monitor aged inventory and work proactively to avoid risk on excess stock
  • Work in collaboration with the Finance/Accounting teams to ensure Supply Chain activities are being communicated and solutions to issues can be found
  • Manage inventory management and reconciliation activities and approve month end close reconciliation reports from direct reports.  Oversight Includes in and out receipt transactions for all raw, pack, WIP, and finished goods, BOL tracking, review, and input, accurate lot control for all materials, consumption of materials when production occurs, and reconciliation with suppliers, plants, and warehouses.
  • Oversee customer service and logistics, ensuring that customer orders are entered in timely, accurately, and customers acknowledged with accurate expected quantity and delivery date information.  Orders are tendered to carriers as appropriate, and continual tacking and communication is achieved for all orders to ensure impacted parties are kept up to date on any changes or issues.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of supply and demand planning experience
  • CPG and Food CPG Experience
  • Experience running full S&OP Process
  • Experience working with 3rd party manufacturers
  • Ability to build strong relationships with raw material suppliers
  • Experience working with senior management to strategically influence and gain alignment across departments
  • Strong understanding of MRP programs, StockIQ or similar
  • Ability to work at a high-level but also able to roll up sleeves and work at ground level
