Full Job Description
Purpose:
The Engineering and Maintenance Manager position will oversee brewery assets and equipment including brewhouse, cellar, packaging, utilities, facilities and grounds.  This is a hand’s-on role with the responsibility to manage a 3–4-person team.  This role is responsible for troubleshooting day to day issues and well as carrying out preventive maintenance plans and leading engineering/capital projects for the brewery.
 
Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of maintenance and packaging equipment technicians.
• Troubleshoot daily issues with the goal to improve uptime and overall asset performance. 
• Prepare and review work orders and maintenance requests.    
• Develops work schedules, assigns work orders and priorities.  Ensures work orders are completed in a timely manner.   
• Oversees maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, cooling, electric power, gas, and air required for operations.
• Leads capital projects, timelines, and capital expenditure.
• Plans, develops, and implements new methods to improve operations, minimize operating costs for greater utilization of labor and materials.
• Works with outside contractors when necessary to service or install existing and new equipment.
• Drive and collaborate root-cause analysis and elimination of failures.
• Prepares repair and maintenance budget for overhauls, services, tools, spare parts, supplies and other maintenance needs.  
• Ensures adherence to budgeted spend.
• Train, develop and improve the technical knowledge and skillset of the team.
• Completes performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as required.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones with all team members.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:  
• 3-4 direct reports 
 
Qualifications:

• Technical degree or degree in a related field
• 5 years’ experience in engineering or maintenance
• In depth knowledge of maintenance programs  
• Proficiency in services and functioning of pumps, motors, controls, PLC, conveyance, boilers, compressors, chillers and HVAC.
• Experience with servicing facility utilities 
• Strong communication and leadership skills. 
• Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms, including persuasion-through-explanation.

• Advances troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
• Root cause analysis
• Microsoft office, email, engineering software familiar
 
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs, stand, squat, and work in hot or cold or humid environments for an extended period.
Availability for unplanned emergency repairs.  Occasional availability on weekends.
Physically and mentally able to work in tight spaces and in close quarters with others
 
Pay band for this role is $55,000 to $80,000. Benefits include paid company holidays, health, dental, vision, and other ancillary benefit coverage, paid vacation time off, paid sick time off, parental leave, and 401(k) matching.
