Summary

We seek an experienced Category Management leader to lead our department, who is skilled in uncovering retailer and brand growth insights, crafting compelling presentations, developing analytical tools, and with a high level of professional acumen in presenting data stories to key customers. This role supports our internal sales and marketing teams in decision making, and presents clear, actionable insights to senior leaders and customers.

  • Data Analysis and Insights
    • Utilize market data, consumer insights, and sales analytics to identify trends and opportunities
    • Ability to synthesize insights across multiple data platforms
    • Own existing category data tools and strong understanding of industry tools (Nielsen, SPINS, Numerator, etc.)
  • Category/Customer Strategy Development
    • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities
    • Proficient in category solutions analytics and strategy – developing story for portfolio of brands (inclusive of PL) and how multiple brands can grow categories for retailers
    • Develop and present actionable insights to drive informed decision-making
  • Presentations and Sales Enablement
    • Develop and present compelling materials to effectively communicate category strategies and brand assortments to retailers
    • Utilize data-driven insights and market research to tailor presentations for specific customer needs and preferences
    • Support Annual Operating Plan strategy and sales execution
    • Support analytics, customer perspective, and preparation (along with Marketing) of monthly business review
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Collaborate with customers & account managers to understand their needs and align category strategies with their business objectives
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to align category strategies with overall business objectives
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment on key business objectives

  • High level of computer literacy including proficiency in Word and Excel.

  • Ability to travel domestically

 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus
  • 4 – 7 years of progressive category management experience in CPG
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing category strategies that drive business growth. In-depth understanding of the food industry, market trends, and consumer behavior
  • Strong experience building and evolving process, data analytics visibility, and standardized reporting visibility for internal cross functionals
  • Experience with Nielsen/IRI, SPINS, Numerator, retailer data portals

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000, based on experience, plus bonus.
