Position Summary:
As the Director of Finance for Moots Cycles, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial managment processes. This position requires a versatile skill set, combining accounting expertise with controller proficiency to ensure the smooth operation of our business.
Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and on time.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and e-commerce channels to maintain accuracy.
- Work with third-party accountants to prepare monthly financial reports and partake in monthly financial reviews and audits with the President and owners.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support business planning and decision-making.
Reporting
- Generate reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and stock movement trends.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and investigate root causes.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve inventory management processes and optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies, promotions, and product assortment plans.
ComplianceÂ
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal control policies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Implement measures to safeguard inventory assets and prevent loss.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience 3 years in accounting and inventory management roles, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and inventory management best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks & Shopify) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on team building, coaching, and development.
Relationships:
- Reports directly to the President.
- Direct management of all accounting partnerships.
- Close working relationships with all leadership team members.
