It’s an exciting time to join Joyfull Bakery.  Our velocities are 3-4x category averages and deliver a strong category building opportunity for retailers. We’re growing fast with big visions for our future! 

Position Overview

We are searching for a Sales & Marketing Associate to support the management of our Joyfull Bakery and Perfectly Crisp product lines.  As a small but mighty group of 10 office team members, excluding our production staff, we pride ourselves on our collaborative, hands-on approach to business. Our team is committed to bringing the best products to market, and we’re looking for someone to join us who shares our passion and can support our expanding operations in both sales and marketing.

The Sales and Marketing Associate will be a key partner to our VP of Sales and a pivotal member of our small but dynamic team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is eager to take on a variety of tasks that will make a meaningful impact across both sales and marketing functions. This role will wear many hats, from supporting sales initiatives and managing retail accounts to executing marketing initiatives and coordinating trade show activities. This position will be dynamic with responsibilities ranging from supporting the VP of Sales with distributor management, working with our external merchandising partners, executing and tracking trade marketing programs, supporting on trade show activities, managing certain retailer accounts, conducting sales calls, providing marketing support, and more.  The ideal candidate will be a true utility play who thrives in both sales and marketing support related activities.

Candidates should have experience in a small company environment, preferably in natural foods or another CPG business.  This is a roll-up-your sleeves type of job in which you’ll be asked to handle a variety of different tasks.  Details matter and a desire to impact the team is valued. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support:
    • Assist the VP of Sales in managing distributor and retailer accounts to maximize our sales success.
    • Manage new item setup process on customer portals and execute related new vendor setup requests.
    • Act as a liaison with external merchandising partners to review their results, identify opportunities, and provide necessary support for their success.
    • Act as a liaison with external sales brokers to facilitate account management and address customer needs.
    • Conduct sales calls in key channels to develop and grow relationships with specific customer accounts.
    • Prepare sales presentations, reports, and materials to support sales pitches and meetings.
    • Visit select retailer and store locations and execute merchandising strategies in-store
  • Marketing Support:
    • Collaborate on the execution and tracking of trade marketing programs, ensuring effective promotion and visibility of our products in retail environments.
    • Coordinate trade show activities, including logistics, booth setup, and on-site representation of the company, to drive brand awareness and engagement.
    • Maintain and coordinate changes to marketing materials such as product sheets, brochures, and online content.
  • General Administrative and Team Support:
    • Manage external marketing vendors and coordinate invoice approval with our accounting team.
    • Provide support on sales admin-related items for the VP of Sales.
    • Take a proactive approach to problem-solving and handle various tasks that arise in a small business environment.
    • Regularly report on project progress and share insights with the leadership team to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a sales and/or marketing role, preferably in the natural foods or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Experience in a small company environment where multitasking and adaptability are essential.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from start to completion while keep stakeholders up to date and driving timelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial setting.

Location:

  • This is a remote-work job/environment
  • Preferred team member location is in the Boulder-Denver area, but we are open to other locations
    • We have 4 team members in the Boulder-area and our manufacturing facility is located in San Francisco

Compensation:

$60-80k depending on experience
