Nude Foods has an immediate opportunity for a talented Buyer. To ensure ethical and high-quality product sourcing, keeping our store stocked with beautifully presented, high-quality, healthy products that our customers love. This role ensures that all product information is accurately communicated to staff and customers while maintaining compliance with Colorado labor and business regulations.

Responsibilities: 

New Product Sourcing & Evaluation 

• 3+ years’ experience in product sourcing, buying, or procurement 
• Fully vet new products for success based on:
  • Taste – must be delicious.
  • Usability – must be easy to use, durable, and desirable.
  • Sustainability – must meet sustainability standards.
  • Profitability – must be profitable at market prices with margin growth potential.
• Introduce a minimum of three new products per week.
• Ensure compliance with all Colorado food safety and consumer protection regulations.

Vendor & Contract Management 

• 3+ years’ experience in vendor negotiation, contract management, or supplier relations 

• Update contracts with all vendors to include a marketing package.
• Negotiate with vendors to secure bulk discounts and improve pricing and quality.
• Ensure all vendor relationships comply with Colorado contract and fair-trade laws.

Pricing & Sales Analysis 

• 2+ years’ experience in pricing strategy, retail analytics, or financial reporting 

• Evaluate pricing based on competitive grocery prices and current demand.
• Submit Pricing Change Proposal Reports quarterly.
• Monitor and analyze product and category sales; submit Category Profit Margin Reports monthly.
• Improve sales on underperforming products or phase them out as needed.
• Work with marketing and the community to review and update the current product mix.

Merchandising & Promotions 

• 2+ years’ experience in merchandising, retail sales, or product marketing

• Ensure the store is merchandised for optimal product visibility and customer engagement.
• Track sales before and after each merchandising change to assess effectiveness.
• Coordinate, schedule, and communicate sales and promotions.

Product Onboarding & Staff Training 

• 2+ years’ experience in training, product onboarding, or employee education 

• Ensure all new products are fully onboarded and staff are trained before they reach the floor.
• Maintain up-to-date, accessible product information for employees and customers.

Inventory & Quality Control 

• 2+ years’ experience in inventory management, supply chain, or quality control 
• Monitor expiration dates, place older products on sale, and return inferior products to vendors.
• Ensure compliance with Colorado consumer safety and food handling regulations.

Process Documentation & Compliance 

2+ years’ experience in process improvement, operations management, or compliance 

• Document all new processes and keep existing documentation up to date.
• Ensure compliance with Colorado employment laws, including proper classification for exempt/non-exempt status and overtime eligibility.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Commercial Acumen – Focused on profitability and sustainable growth.
• Organizational Skills – Ensures all tasks and responsibilities are managed efficiently.
• Time Management – Prioritizes weekly tasks and meets deadlines.
• Data-Driven Decision-Making – Uses sales and market data for informed choices.
• Attention to Detail – Ensures products are beautifully presented with complete information.
• Prolonged periods standing.

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $56,000 - $75,000 per year. Compensation is determined based on various factors, including job responsibilities, relevant experience, education, and specialized skills. Nude Foods evaluates each candidate holistically to ensure fair and competitive pay. This salary range is provided as a general guideline and does not guarantee a specific offer amount.
